Ui designer
Hi guys, I'm a web designer. I like to starting businesses on the side for fun and profit.

The path to your first 1000$ worth of sells!

In April 2020, I began selling website templates for Figma in order to assist Figma users in building websites more easily. I shared my designs on the most popular template marketplaces. It turned out that my designs were rejected by every single marketplace out there, I decided to set-up my own online store.

As my first experience in business, I found myself dealing with plenty of resistance and stress. Not once did I have to ask myself if I was moving in the right direction. Sometimes I wondered whether selling templates in 2020 was still feasible. The internet had become saturated with templates.

I worked full-time on the business from the beginning, spending all of my time designing templates, creating ui kits, and giving away tons of freebies. I had no sales for the first few months. However, as time passed, people began to purchase my files. I was bringing in about $100 to $150 per month of revenue. It was slow, and it is still slow one year later.

Now, I've hit the 1000-dollar sales quota. It took me exactly twelve months to get there. It's a significant achievement for me, even if it took a long time to get there.
I am extremely grateful to be able to earn money doing something I enjoy.
I learned a lot in the last year, which makes me optimistic about the coming year.

Every day, I learn something new. How to market, create a better presentation, build an email list, document my process, and so on. All of those things could not be learned solely by reading Medium articles and watching Gary Vee videos.

The good news is, for everyone just starting a business, if you keep making good products and remain patient, you'll succeed. Over time, you will have expanded your capacities to do things you did not believe you could one day accomplish.
